Care Instructions And Helpful Tips- Congratulations on the purchase of your new family pet. We have enjoyed taking care
of your puppy and it’s always hard to let then go. They are so easy to get attached to because they bring so much joy
and happiness to a person’s life. There’s not a day that goes by that they don’t do something to make you
laugh. So we hope you enjoy a long, loving, and happy life with your new puppy as much as we have enjoyed the time of taking
care of it. But do take into consideration that the puppy will be shy and nervous at first because now they are in new surroundings
with new people and they need time to adjust to them. Ways you can help you puppy is by simply letting the puppy get to know
you but never rush your puppy let it investigate you and its new surroundings slowly on its own. If you have children you
need to make sure that they don’t do anything to scare the puppy, because if they do it will take more time for it to
come around. If you allow the puppy to come to you on it’s own time it will help to build its confidence and trust for
you. We spend time playing with our puppies and getting them more sociable with people. So it may not take you puppy
very long at all to become your new best friend.
Health- The health of your puppy is one of the most important things about your puppy. They are just like you and I they
need the right amount of nutrition and exercise to help them live a long and healthy life. When it’s in its puppy stages
it doesn’t have any trouble getting lots of exercise so always make sure the puppy is getting enough rest because just
like humans they run out of energy so they need their rest to keep them going. When your puppy becomes an adult it may not
be as active so try taking it for a walk or playing a friendly game of fetch. Always try to make sure your puppy keeps fleas
off because they can be hard on the puppy. While your puppy is in our care we like to worm them every two weeks,After receiving
your puppy you need to follow your vets instructions on what to do with your puppy from then on. Also while in our care your
puppy will receive it’s five and one shot at six weeks. Again as I mentioned earlier you need to take the puppy to your
vet to continue the puppies vaccines and worming’s
Puppy Feeding Tips- While your puppy is in our care we feed dried puppy food. We also make sure that they have plenty
of water. When you purchase your puppy and you decide to feed it a different brand of food you need to slowly change it over
by mixing it with what it is already eating and what you’re switching it to. Because if you change it right away your
puppy will develop an intestinal upset (diarrhea). If you like giving treats we suggest that you use milk-bones. A lot of treats
can make your puppy sick so be careful choosing the type of treats for your puppy.
Relationship With children- When your child is playing with the puppy they need to be supervised. Your puppy can be very playful
and may sometimes play a little rough but it doesn’t realize that it is playing rough because it’s only a puppy.
Children can also play a little rough which can scare, hurt, or maybe even make it aggressive. So even though puppies are
loving and mean no harm always supervise your children when they are playing with them.
Ear Care- It is very important to keep the ears clean and dry. It is very easy for puppies to get ear infections.
When bathing your puppy you should put cotton swabs in their ears to keep the water out because this can cause your puppy
to have an ear infection. It is also important to clean you puppies ears often so that infections don’t occur.
Coat Care- Taking care of you dogs coat is easy, and even if it
has a short coat your dog still needs to be groomed. You should start grooming and brushing your dog at an early age. This
will get him/her used to being groomed and they will be more behaved. You should brush your dogs hair daily especially during
shedding season to keep it looking healthy.
Nail Care- When trimming your dogs nails you should use special trimmers to trim the nails. You should only cut the
hook like end of the nail off. If you cut too much it could hurt the dog and cause the nail to bleed. When this happens the
dog may have trouble trusting you to trim the nails, and will hate having it done. So be very careful when cutting the nails
so that you do not hurt them.
Bathing - When bathing your pet you need to make sure the water is at the right temperature. So that it is not to hot
or cold for the puppy. When bathing the puppy you need to be careful so that you don’t get soap or water in the eyes
and ears, Because this can be irritating for your puppy. When you wash your puppy you want to make sure you use a conditioner
with your shampoo so that the skin stays moisturized and keeps the fur from being dried out also. When you dry your dog dry
with a towel and if you must use a blow dryer set the blower on the lowest coolest setting. This will help to keep their skin
from getting really dry and itchy.
Eye Care- It is very common for some dogs such as your Pekingese Maltese, and poodles to get clogged tear ducts
which is caused from dirt and dust. This may cause tearing in the eyes and stains the fur below their eyes. The only thing
you can really do is to get special eye drops for your puppy and use it at least once daily. For the stains on their fur you
can buy numerous of product at your local pet store.
Teeth Care- Teeth care is crucial for all dogs and one of the worst
things that can be harsh on your pets teeth would be table scraps. Scraps are also bad on a smaller dogs digestive system.
Eating scraps can make them vomit, have diarrhea ,and they can even choke on them. So feed you dog dry dog food and if you
want to feed them treat we find that milk bones are the way to go.
They also make dental bones for your dog to chew on
to help deep tarter build up off their teeth. You can even buy toothpaste and tooth brushes that are specially made for your
dog. This is the best way to keep your dogs teeth clean. But if the tarter build up on your dogs teeth gets to bad you may
want to take it to your vet to have them cleaned.
Vet- Even
though we have suggested all sorts of information on your puppy it’s good that if you get a puppy to also take your
vets advice on taking care of your puppy. Because everyone has different opinions about taking care of an animal.
