MaltiPoos are a maltese-poodle cross breed and as such can carry the extremes in either breed temperament. However, the typical MaltiPoo is very loving and gentle. They are very loyal to their human family and very protective.

Maltipoos are very people oriented and want to be with you all the time. They will even sleep with you, if you let them! MaltiPoos are a "long-coated" breed and as such need regular grooming. You'll want to find a qualified groomer who will work with you in deciding the "cut" you want for your MaltiPoo. A common cut for a MaltiPoo is a Teddy Bear cut, which will make your MaltiPoo the cuddly "teddy bear" you'll come to love.

However, this cut requires some upkeep at home and you should discuss with your groomer your time committments and what you can handle at home in the way of grooming.

Poodle crossed puppies display the positive characteristics we are striving for in a good family pet: great temperaments, hearty dispositions, low shedding, non-allergenic coats and a family pet that all ages can LOVE and appreciate.

Mixed breeds are very popular and the hybrid vigor produced when crossing two suitable breeds can produce a dog with both breed qualities .

90% of all dog genetic health problems are recessive. This means that in order for a puppy to have the health problem, both parents must carry it. By breeding two dogs of different breeds, without similar health problems, we are breeding puppies with far less health problems! Though, we searched for healthy parent dogs to begin with, if a dog shows signs of any health problems we no longer breed that dog.
Crossbred dogs have far less health problems, (hybrid vigor). True that the outcome is not as predictable as a purebred dog, though, we can predict a lot, by knowing the parents, past litters, and only breeding healthy dogs with great temperaments to begin with.

The Poodle is supposed to have originated in Germany, where it is known as the Pudel or Canis Familiaris Aquatius. However, for years it has been regarded as the national dog of France, where is was commonly used as a retriever as well as, the Caniche, which is derived from chien canard or duck dog. Doubtless the English word "poodle" comes from the German pudel or pudelin, meaning to splash in the water

Poodles are excellent with training and are actually known for obedience skills. They are very good with children but puppies may be too rambunctious for toddles and are good with other pets too. Poodles tolerate hot and cold weather fairly well. They are ideally indoor pets but with plenty of time in a fenced in yard.  The require some exercise and love to swim and run!!!
Grooming is very high for the poodle, as well. Frequent trimming and brushing, ear and dental care are required . They require professional grooming, especially to maintain a short cut.
Combined, the maltepoo is a well mannered and easy to train pet that is great with children  and other pets. They do require daily hair care, but are considered hypo allergenic with minimal shedding.

The Malte-Poo has soft silky curls that do not get matted. Because their hair is so easy to comb through, they can be ready for a night out or a visit with friends in a moments notice.

Grooming: You can keep a short puppy cut with a teddy bear face that needs very little grooming even as adults.
Or you can let their hair grow long in length and put a little pony tail with a bow on top. A lot of people call them a Fancy little dog because have become a favorite of many celebrities like Elizabeth Taylor and Zaa Zaa Gabor.
They are more of a pampered pet not the kind of dog you would put in your backyard and forget about.
In my opinion they are very carefree and fun loving little dog with lots of personality eager to play ball and can amuse themselves for hours with their own little toys.
The Poodle has also been a favorite of Toy Breeds because they are so loyal and easy to train. A favorite of all Circus trainers because they can be taught the most difficult tasks. Not easily distracted by things going on around them such as the audience and keep their focus on the trainer. Always eager to please and enjoy a treat in return.

Malte-Poos can be any color that the poodle comes in. A light Fawn, Brown, Chocolate, Black, Black and White like a party poodle and Apricot.
